Pet/bird Shops In Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hi. Does anyone know any pet/bird shops in bangkok other than Chatuchak Market?? Does Chatuchak market opens on weekdays?

If you find one, please let me know. I would like a couple of conures. People are urging me to visit JJ2...and as soon as I get a car, I will. Or is it Sanam Luang 2?

Hi,

There are alternatives to the Chatuchak market and of which, I feel are much better alternatives at that as I dont know if you have ever been down there (CC) but the animals are all just traded as a comodity and no care or respect for the animal is shown or given. I have seen African Grey babies there for sale which shouldnt even have been out of the breeders premises, but, anyway........

You might like to give these people a try, I havent bought off them yet but I am planning on buying an African Grey from them in the near future.

First, thanks for the info. I may try to find this place, also I found the website to be weird, full of trojans, and useless in terms of information about location.

The last time I visited JJ market the conditiions for the birds were filthy. :)

Avoid it like the plague.

I strongly caution you against purchasing birds or any animal for that matter from Chatuchak Market. It is a haven for disease. Animals from there are more often than not infected with every nature of avian disease. Dogs there are often infected with distemper. I tell you this from personal experience.

Just to add to the comment on JJ market. The news on thursday night had a story of a man who died from rabies he caught off a rottweiler puppy bought at JJ market.

Interesting, and I note that now they will require all pet sellers at JJ to "register" with the government...not sure what that means for the future of the pets there.

There are some good shops around Seri Ctr on Sri Nakarin road.
