Hi Guys,

if I do a visa run on my own, when I get past Thai immigration do you know where I go to get the visa for Cambodia. Is it just at the Cambodian immigration office?? Just want to know so I don't get taken away by any old cambodian and over charged? It is 1000 baht right for the visa?

Thanks :)

Personally, I would recommend using a visa company, I have tried the other way with the girlfriend etc and it just leaves you exposed to a lot of very bad experiences , such as constant hassle from would be helpers, not knowing the score how to deal with simple things like cueing up when people are hassling you for money to avoid along cue, tipping the Cambodian immigration man who stamps your passport, the cost of the Cambodian visa at Daung is 1300thb (20US$????) Cannot pay with US$20bill.

I just found the whole experience disorientating and unpleasant and expensive.

Having said that when Cambodia Inter of Bukou Street Pattaya who I have used almost exclusively for a few years failed to pick me up on my last run (i.e. Let me Down) , I had to do it again and this time at Duang just by the Thai Immigration point there was a chubby guy with a Desk who I think I recognised from previous runs , who said and acted like he was going to fill in the forms and get the visa etc, there was a big notice saying you did not have to pay for visa services, and as usual it was all rather confusing what to do, anyway in the end I let the guy do everything fill in my forms go and get the visa check me out and in, and when I came out of having my passport stamped at Thai immigration, he was there , 'everything alright' he said. He was a pleasant professional guy with no pressure , I freely gave him 100thb and that was that. Job Done, too good to be true, so unlikely to remain !!!!

Can usually take Girlfriend on the bus for 500thb.
