Bmw 2002 Wanted

Featured Replies

I've been looking for a BMW 2002 for a while now.. Seen a few dogs and some overpriced lash-ups.. Seem to have exhausted the internet..But there are a few around.. So looking for other posible avenues.. Local car tent ? or parked up with 'for sale' on the side. Maybe you have seen one for sale... I'm willing to travel.

1973-75 with original 2 litre lump would suit me best.. Sound bodywork etc... But happy to view anything..

Willing to offer upto 100k for the right car... Not looking for finished project or pristine example just genuine car that would make a good project..

PM me if you have any suggestions or leads...

Thanks for the link .. But it's had a motor change. Some Toyota lump fitted.. way too tidy and expensive for what I need too..

Next ?

Don't have one for you, just wanted to let you know that my folks bought one in '75 - the only truly lemon year for that model. My Dad was a master mechanic, but he had to adjust the carbs every 200 miles or so. Replaced them twice, so three bad sets of carbs. They loved driving it, when it ran right, but dumped it after a year. So maybe a 74 would be a better bet ;-)

:) Thanks for that... By the time I've finished with it there will be little of the standard setup. But I will deffo double check if I find a 75.. Seems that 73 and is a good year as the head deasing changed a little after that..

when you ay "replaced carbs" I assume it was a ti with dual solex carbs. replace them with weber to get a dream machine

A mate has one here on Samui for sale. Only thing is it has a Nissan Skyline engine in it as per most Thai classic cars. Ive seen some lovely old MG's but all with toyota diesels in them or something similar. :)

thaisecondhand.com has a pretty good array of used cars but it is only in thai. worth a try.

I had a BMW 2002 in the US. Loved that car..... :)

Thai websites aren't a problem as I can read Thai.. Just there are only a few and they mainly concentrate on more modern cars. Very few Thais are into the idea of a classic car.. (thats what is good about it)

Anyhow thanks for the suggestions.. Guess I'm hoping that someone will know of a tidy example for a bargain price..

Those BM's are classic now, but i guess you'll not find one with the original engine overhere. also a 100'k is very low the get something decent.

I saw a sweet looking 2002 in the dealers / tents on Ratchadaphisek road. It was one of the more "upscale" ones with a nice selection of Benz, BMW, etc, somewhre in the vicinity of TRUE Tower. I didn't stop- but it looked good on the lot. Probably still there.

Been meaning to drag myself up there and look.. Weathers cooler now so not such a pilgrimage.. Amazing what you can find lined up in some of the dealers.. Some of the cars are terible though.. especially the 'custom' ones with red interiors, mismatched interiors, nasty wheels and blue lights and plastic chrome trims... euuuu..
