Rimmer
Pattaya, December 5 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : On Friday Evening, residents of the Baan Hat Uthong Apartments located at the bottom of Soi 6 off the Pratamnuk Road felt a shudder, similar to that of an earthquake, but soon realized that a major accident had occurred at the base of their building involving a cement truck. Police and Rescue Services rushed to the scene and assisted the driver of the cement truck, operated by the CPAC Company, based on the Sukumvit Road in Naklua, who was stuck in the cab. Eventually the driver, Khun Somgiet aged 43, was removed and taken to Hospital suffering from minor injuries. He was able to explain to Police that as he approached a turn at the bottom of the road, he lost control of the vehicle which slammed into the base of the apartment complex, close to the entrance to the underground car park. There was some suggestion from the scene that the brakes failed on the truck, however this was not confirmed and Police believe it was driver error that caused the crash. Police will investigate further when the driver is fit to be interviewed. http://www.pattayaone.net/news [newsfooter][/newsfooter]5 Dec 2009
