Man accused of filming girl on toilet

PATTAYA: -- An unnamed Thai man found himself at Pattaya Police Station on the evening of the 5th December accused of filming a young girl whilst she was on the toilet at a restaurant on Sukhumvit Road. Also at the scene, were the accusers, Khun Somwong, his wife and 9 year daughter.

According to the girl, she went to visit the restroom at the restaurant and the suspect who was at a nearby table followed her. Whilst she was in the cubicle, he apparently climbed the wall and started filming her with his mobile phone camera. She screamed for help and the man made a quick exit as the police were being called.

Later he was stopped at a police checkpoint in his Mitsubishi sedan and taken back to the station for questioning. There he denied the charge and as there was no evidence on the mobile phone camera, the man offered to end the affair by donating 5,000 baht to the family, which after a few minutes deliberation they decided to accept.

The man was released and the family went on their merry way, stomachs full and 5,000 baht the richer.

Rough justice. How do we know it wasn't a scam by the family?

I just don't see any credible evidence either way. The way the article was written was rather cynical though --

Oh no, Jingthing, is that another poll about to start

I am with Jingthing on this, no evidence either way and could easily have been a set up.

assuming the girl was using the Ladies then the BiB should be able to find his prints in there.

Either way somebody should have been locked up, who just depends on what the crime was, Paedophilia or blackmail?

The victim was not a falang. :)

Now, that's cynical!
