One of the ice cream shops at the beginning of walking street has a webcam out front now that shows walking street live. It's pretty cool to get an idea how things are looking before going out, and also for catching your friends grabbing lady boys at 4am

Perhaps this will be more interesting for the TV users who disliked the "Panda-cam" from Chiang Mai zoo. (I'll let one of the rest of you make the inevitable jokes about "zoo" and "panda" as relate to this cam ...)

I often start my barcrawls of Walking Street by having a sit-down icecream at the Timeout shop. I like the way, when you walk in the store, the cute little girlies all stop what they are doing and trill in unison: "Sawasdee kaaaaaa!"

Pricey though. They charge about 100 baht for a little tub. If all the seats are taken, I walk further on to the next icecream place which is actually a better deal.

Is this cam supposed to be on 24/7? It seems to be offline at the moment (it says "Off Air" at the bottom of the video player). Perhaps it is only on the air during the "exciting" hours (i.e. night time).

Yes it's going to be on 24/7 but you know internet in Thailand...

What a great gimmick! I will definitely stop by and pick up some gelato when I am in town. Maybe I'll even try to make an appearance on the webcam.

This will be the third stop for me after getting my room and you can guess the other.Great Cam, clear and no lag.Will check it out tonight. Hope you guys don't see your girl who promised not to work in the bar while you are away!lol
