The looong drive from Loei to Jomtien is wearing me out. The next trip I plan to drive to Udon and fly to Bangkok. U-Tapao would be better but I can't find a flight with that destination. The question is can I park at Udon airport long term or would I be better off leaving my car at a hotel?

Should I book through an agent or is it as cheap and easy to buy the ticket at the airport?

At the moment there is no secure parking at Udon Airport (opening for a bright young business man). I have had no problem leaving my car for a week or more, just park up the back (Northern side) under a tree and away from the traffic. Heaps more parking when the new airport opens.

Easy to buy your tickets on line with Thai, Air Asia or NOK but these only service major destinations. --- U-Tapao NO chance unless you go via Russia. :o

but of course the way AirAsia does its fares; its miles cheaper to book online and avoid being over the permittable nr of seats....

considered the nice overnite bus udon PTY? the additional drive from BKK thinks that you loose any time advantage. as long as snake pit is not there yet

you wouldnt want to just turn up and expect to get a seat ,unless its the very early or very late flights .

middayish flights all seem to be full ,which is surprising considering all the flights now .

choice of nokair ,airasia. or thai .

they have just finished the International terminal . dont know where the international flights will be going/coming

A computer illiterate friend of mine asked me about the international flights. I spent quite a bit of time checking it for him and found that there are no direct international flights that I could find. They all connected at Bangkok.

I will book online. I'm not fond of waiting or surprises. :o

It's a nine hour drive from Loei to Jomtien. The drivers are not that bad but in a nine hour time frame you do see a number of lunatics and it takes only one. :D
