Opening A Thai Bank Account

I have my longterm girlfriend and soon future wife with child born early next year wish to know if as I foreigner can open a bank account in thailand either in my name or both myself and my wifes name also if anyone has any experience what is the easist way to transfer money from your countries to a thai bank account

It's easy, just walk into any bank, show them your work permit and they'll open an account no worries.

If you have a joint account you only get 1 ATM card and you won't be able to use that account for visa purposes.

Easiest way to transfer money from your home country account is by internet.

Before I went to Thailand, I contacted K bank and asked about this, no problem, a cheque in gb pounds and passport, the reality was different, no one spoke English and even with my thai lady, did not want to know. I then went to get some cash out Bank of Ayudyah? No problems. When I asked about opening an account, yes, if you are here for more than 3 months, 4 people spoke English and that is the key I think, Anyone here speak English?
