Hi,

I wonder if anyone could answer my question? I have been told that my stepsons visa has been forwarded to Guernsey, so I assume there isn't a problem in Thailand.

The question I have is, will my stepsons visa (if granted) have a travel date. I am lead to believe his visa will run along side his mums, so since she has an ILR he would also

be granted the same. As there is no time factor involved with an ILR surely it would not need to be dated like an initial two year visa would be?

ILR cannot be granted outside the UK; he'll get ILE instead (same thing really).

It will have an expiry date on it; which is usually two years; this is the date he must first enter the UK by.

This assumes Guernsey has the same rules as the rest of the UK.

N.B. I've edited the title to include 'UK.'

Thanks 7by7, will his visa have an earliest he can use it by date?

It will be valid from the date it is issued; unless you asked for a specific start date when applying.

Thanks again,

I just put down February as an expected date of travel, based on the visa processing times quoted by the Embassy.

I would like to get him as soon as possible to get him in school.
