What Make Is This Bike?

Featured Replies

Looks like the Yamaha FJR1300...

Seconded.

Being a police officer he directs the bike to stay upright and it complies! :)

That is a great picture! That little copper looks so happy on his big FJR1300 :)

Is that a traffic cop? Never seen a Thai policeman on a decent bike before.

If you spend some time on the highways between Bangkok and Pattaya you'll see a lot of nice bikes. There are a number of BiB that ride big Beemers and some other flashy bikes. And what about the BiB that show up to various Bike Weeks on their flashy police HD's?

These FJR1300's seem to be used primarily for escorting VIPs - the only time I ever see them is on the toll roads around Bangkok. Would really be way too big to use in Bangkok traffic anyway.

I think this yammy is a Hua Hin based cop/bike.

But a lot of nice cop bikes around, some of them owned by the force some privately but used in service. Go to any bike week, you d be surpised how many of the thai bikers are cops

There is at least a couple nice BMW's used by the traffic police in Phuket town. They are often seen at the main junction at Central.

The only time I've seen those Yammys were when they were sitting on the showroom floor at the Yamaha Rider's Club waiting to be delivered.

He looks like a scaled down version of Poncho off CHIPS :)

It looks like each Policestation in Phuket has recieved at least one BMW 650, mostly used for escorting VIPs.

There is talk about getting budget for some Ninja 650s too. Half the price of BMW.
