Hello please could anybody help me with what my options are in my situation. I arrived in Thailand on the 19th Nov and was due to fly home on the 15 dec but my Father became ill when we was just about to depart from the airport to London heathrow. He was taken from the medical department at the airport to a hospital in bangkok. He is still there today and maybe will be there for a few more days.

Because its the 19th Dec today I think my 30 days have expired. Please could anybody inform me of what my options are and where i will need to go and sort this out.

I would speak to them at the hospital as often they have sections which will help with extensions for your father. I may have been beter if you had gone to immigration earlier as I doubt that they will extend an allready overstayed entry.

You should have his medical certificate and passport to prove relationship and explain the need to attend to him. If a major hospital they should help you but in any case you will probably have to visit Immigration to take care of it and as said it should have been done before now. If you do not expect to pay 500 baht a day overstay fine when you depart at airport.

Go to the nearest immigration office and apply for a visa extension of 7 days (that's all you get) which cost you 1900 baht

There are special provisions for extension of stay in such circumstances detailed under section 2.25 of Police Order 777/2551.
