DagonKhan
Not a fantastic set of pictures I know! I'd love to know what it is though, could it be a Checkered Keelback? <<<Complete guess on my part. I'd guesstimate it to be in the region of 1 1/2 foot (approx. 400-500mm). It was out the other night strangling a gecko which it had coiled itself around, didn't have a camera handy at the time though.

Musongman
With any luck, it isn't a baby Cobra. I hate all snakes, and I was cornered by a horrible black thing in a makeshift toilet in the country a while back. Luckily it was as anxious to avoid me as I was to get out of its way!! The builders of my friend's house thought it was great sport to see the farang screaming like a girl and running for his life!!
steffi
If you look it's identical to the oriental rat snake in this posting Identifying Snake With any luck, it isn't a baby Cobra. DagonKhan
I'm rather hoping that it isn't poisonous! It's only a tiddler and it would be nice not to have to worry about it around the children. So if it's a rat snake of some variety I'd be pleased.
