This morning I obtained a single-entry non-immigrant category O visa from the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Munich.

It was quite painless.

Completed application form.

Passport.

1 photo.

€50.

Nothing else was required.

Do come early, as by 11:30 the old dear was muttering about people turning up at quarter to twelve being too lazy to get up in the morning.

:)

Non Immigrant based on what?

Valid for one journey to Thailand, but not for 1 year I suspect.

Reason I entered was Investigate Retirement, not that she bothered to read it.

I don't require more than 60 days to season my 800,000 and at that point can apply for first extension.

A Non Immigrant O is the wrong visa type for retirement!!

As far as I am aware it should be an O-A.

A single entry non imm o visa is perfect if you are going to extend in Thailand.

Thanks for the correction to my post Lite Beer.

Did not know the OP could come here on the O instead of the intended O-A, then change to O-A here upon extension.

No. He can apply for a 12 month extension of stay for retirement. :)

Seasons Greetings.

I had applied for "O" visa for one year in 2008. I am a Canadian citizen .

Now I will go to Germany , visiting friends and apply at the Munich Consulate for my

second O visa. At this consulate , the lady is very polite and helpful.

Hope to get it faster, as before.
