The Dan Sai Kid
I travelled through India on an ATM card - it was a total nightmare - they only have ATM in the state capitals - and some of those Indian states are bigger than France.
The Gentleman Scamp
Still no ATM's, unless you're Canadian and you're in Phnom Penh, otherwise it's a lot of hassle to get money.
Oleg_Rus
pitty - such nice country and no ATM. or, maybe it's right ? funny - cash advances in casinos - freaking crooks all over. one year ago got stacked in sim reap with Bangkok Bank Visa ATM and 10$ in the pocket. khmers are those who helped with phone calls and fax. It's right out side the bank of Canadia - I think it's called.
fw1
There is also an ATM card in the new (well two years old now) shopping centre Soriya or whatever it's called (distinctive blue dome next to Saat Thamai). There's an ATM on the third floor. It's easily spotted as there is a guard standing right next to it.
CrossBones
There are MANY banks that will give you cash from your visa card. Most charge about 3%. Also some supermarkets will do this for about 5% Open a bangkok bank account (walk in with your passport, no visa or work permit needed) in bangkok and you can find branches in PP where you can withdraw cash. Youll need to bring the bank book with you (obviously). There is a rumor that there is 1 international ATM in PP. I dont know if its true. Apparently in November there will be international atms in PP, Siem Reap and other places. I'm off to Cambodia for a few days next week,KK and Sihanouky, can anyone confirm there are still no atm's in that region, looked at the usual Cambodia sites but they all seem not to be updated on this issue. Also is Baht ok in Sihanouville?or best to take dollarsThanks anyone <{POST_SNAPBACK}> use dollars <no small tears in the bills> don't exchange baht there, terrible rate. one local atm but nothing to the outside world, if you need cash from a credit card there is a bank in PP. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
