Hi,

I'm looking to purchase some camera equipment in Bangkok, and I would like to claim the VAT back on my purchases. I will be flying into Bangkok, but i will be leaving Thailand overland into Laos.

Is it possible to go to the airport and claim VAT back if you are not flying out of Bangkok?

Are there other ways for me to claim my VAT back.

I know about the P.P.10 form which i will get when buying my equipment.

I have rung up the VAT guys in Thailand and they seemed to think that perhaps if i had it stamped by customs i could get it back at the airport? however they could have misunderstood me, or them me. I'm not sure if customs would stamp my form if i wasn't leaving the country that day, or via the airport?

Any help will be thankfully received,

Regards,

James
