Can I send the 400,000 baht to my wife's account?
Hello everyone, Can I send the 400,000 baht needed for the non o visa to my wife's Thai account from my foreign account and then transfer that into my Thai bank account and have it count as having been deposited from a foreign account? Will showing that her account received the money from a foreign account suffice? Thank you -

What is current procedure with transfer from US Vanguard account to Bangkok Bank?
I have not seen recent threads on this. I have not made such transfer in several years, and would appreciate hearing from someone who's done it recently. What is easiest and cheapest way? Does it still go through Bangkok Bank NY branch, etc.? My Vanguard account already linked with my Bangkok Bank account in Bangkok. I have read that brokerages charge for wire transfers, but electronic bank transfers are free. Can latter be used for overseas transfers, and why would everyone not choose that option? Thanks for advice. -

Donald Trump's diet
There is an article in The Daily Beast today in which RFK Junior describes Donald Trump's diet as 'poison.' He says he lives on junk food and Diet Coke and that he has never seen him drink a glass of water. How does an overweight 78-year-oild man eat like that and yet work a ten- or twelve-hour day seven days a week? Is every meal accompanied by a handful of pills? It reminds me of Morgan Spurlock's film 'Super Size Me,' in which he lived for a month on hamburgers and fries - and died at the age of 53. That someone can eat like that amazes me. -

Anybody Bored in Thailand??
Yes. It's not just you. I think it's the language barrier that limits interesting interactions that contributes most to my boredom. New activities and locations only go so far. For people who speak my language they are in holiday mode and usually just drinking or acting goofy. Lack of mental stimulation would be another word for it. I wanted something like my life in Manhattan when I was in graduate school when I moved to Thailand, but much cheaper. I found it cheaper, but it got boring rather quickly after the first few years as the novelty wore off because that intellectual factor and brotherhood of having people in common like in school or occupation was not there.
