How Time Fly's :)

I went to Thailand and watched the fireworks from the hill, then went to bed hoping the world would still stand next day :)

Celebrated from a mountain top in The Alborz mountains with a bunch of drunk Persians.

Was wrong

y'know, I've been thinkin' about the same thing...been tryin' to think about what I was doin' on new years eve over the past 40 years...I can remember '70(acid), '80(went to the pictures) and '90(my ex started a row inna pub) but vaguely remember that 10 years ago there was a party in Dubai that wasn't nice; buncha stuck up thai women an' my wife didn't feel comfortable so we left. She later made good thai lady friends in Abu Dhabi where we lived...

Nipped out from work for a few minutes to watch the fireworks from a bridge in Frankurt, then back into work to ensure the survival of the computer systems. Well-paid non-event :)

celebrating being alive,as i nearly died on 31st dec 1997,due to a hospital cock up.Every new years eve i feel like i can move mountains, and glad to be alive in this wonderful country.Every year is a bonus and i aim to enjoy and savour every minute.

Spent it in Goldfingers on Patpong, remember my one friend was flying out that night to get back to the US to make it back to work in time. Was thinking that I don't believe I would want to be on a plane at that time, being drunk and with allot of half naked thai women is much better. Actually that applies to any day of the week.

In Japan. Checked Barclays systems (working for Barclays Capital) 9 hours ahead of London meltdown, which didn't happen.

I think we'll learn some time that Y2K bug stuff was all lies.

I was disappointed the power companies didn't shut off the juice for 10sec just to screw with people. :)

the IT industries spent billions and billions over a period of a few years to change code and prevent anything bad from happening. The media and public put pressure on everybody to act and it worked.

Talk about clueless

100% correct, though the namecalling wasn't needed.

All one has to do is look at some system failures in undeveloped nations due to not doing the updates.

I was off my face in a club called Utopia in Las Vegas. Can't say I gave much thought to the Y2K 'problem' at midnight.
