Hi guys, me and my gf are applying for a second visa soon, possibly a differant visa than the last application. Anyway last time she was refused for several reasons but we lost our visa folder when we had a our friend send it to us in the post from somewhere else in Thailand. So it means we have lost the official letter they gave us for visa refusal and all other important information. Is this going to give me serious problems for next application? Thanks for any help. :)

If you was applying for example for a tourist visa again you would need the GV51 to satisfy the reasons for refusal?

Are you now applying under a different criteria for example a fiancé application ?

This forum is for enquiries about visas etc. to all countries other than Thailand. Therefore it will help members to help you if you say which country you are asking about!

It also helps if you say which type of visa you are asking about!

I assume from your previous posts that you are asking about the UK, so have amended the topic title to include that.

If applying for the same type of visa as last time it will help to have the refusal notice as you must deal with each and every point of the refusal or she will only be refused again. If a different type of visa then there is no need to deal with those points, but you will need to show that she qualifies for that visa.

Obviously she will need to update all the supporting documents.

Sorry for the confusion, well let's say if it was a tourist visa again, I can remember 90% of the reasons for refusal. If that won't be good enough we will probably be applying for a fiance visa. Not 100% at this time we are going to look more into it, but if applying for a differant visa it won't really matter about the reasons for refusal on the last application?? Thankyou. And yes it is to the UK. last time she was refused a tourist visa, only for a 2 week visit to UK.

A fiance visa is issued so that the holder can travel to the UK, marry their sponsor and settle in the UK. Only apply for a fiance visa if this is what you both want to do.

Every visa application is treated on it's own merits, however if applying for the same category as a previous refusal one will need to show that one now qualifies by dealing with the reasons for that refusal.

Different types of visa have different criteria. If, for example, a visit visa has been refused because the applicant has no valid reason to return then this would not be a factor in a subsequent settlement application as when applying for settlement one obviously has intention of returning.
