Retirement Visa To Marriage Visa

Featured Replies

Probably an unneccessary question but is it ok to change from a Retirement visa to marriage visa

I am currently on a retirement visa but would prefer to get a marriage visa on its expiry

I meet the critreia for the marriage visa but would hate to be turned down and then not have the 800k in place

As long as you qualify it should be no problem.

BTW You are talking about extensions of stay. Not Visas.

You'll face resistance. Possibly gentle but they'll try & talk you into staying where you are.

I suppose thats what worries me that they would not just persuade but insist

However if I only have 400k on deposit I guess they/I would have no choice

Correct. If you do not qualify for retirement. They have no choice.

You can cover your(self) by having more than one account. As said if you only show 400k it should fly unless they find something wrong with the marriage paperwork (more and wife an important factor).

It depends where you live in Thailand , in Chiangmai its very easy to get a spouse visa if all paper work is there and and some next door nabor Thai nationality will co sign for you as a proper citizen .

But the BKK have diffrent rules and nakon sri Tammarat different and so on.

So the life is a bitch and this is Thailand :)

:) ^_^You want have any probl. in K.Kaen I changed there 3mth. ago.
