Id very much appreciate advice from you guys..

My GF ( 24 yrs old ) arrived in the UK march 2009 i met her that same week . she is here on a student visa for a 52 week sandwich course ( english ) her current visa runs out end of april 2010.

we would like to apply for a student visa extension.

as far as i can see its possible to extend this visa for a further year.

It appears to me that because my Gf has completed a course of at least 6 months study in the previous 4 months that she need only show acceptance to a school and that she has the course fees plus 2 months living costs of "600 per month if outside of london.

does anyone have any experience of apply for a student visa extension that they could share?

im also a little concerned that her sandwich course (study / work experience) will not meet the criteria.

and does anyone here know if we have to pay for the course in full before applying or its enough to simply show acceptance and the money in an account? it would be unfair to have to pay for a course before knowing if we have had a visa granted.

many thanks in advance

If she has the necessary 40 points then she should get her extention.

Whether the course is acceptable or not is probably best answered by the educational establishment providing the course. Remember that they must be an approved education provider.

She does not have to pay the course fees up front, merely show that she has the money available in her bank to do so.
