According to the Washington Post, these countries (and now Portugal) have legal gay marriage -- Gay marriage is permitted in Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Norway. Canada, South Africa and six U.S. states also permit it. South Africa is interesting. If S.A. can do it, why not Thailand? I realize we all don't want to get married, but consider this, as expats it would give us one more VISA option here. phayao Posted January 10, 2010 Share Posted January 10, 2010 This new Portuguese law (a Catholic country!) doesn't grant the same-sex couple the possibility of adoption. The Kingdom of Spain has granted, from June/2005, full rights to same-sex couples equal to man-woman marriages, including adoption and the name "marriage".
