Hi

Could anyone help me with a question? When we filled in my stepsons settlement visa application it asked who would be travelling with him? It assumed it would be his mum but also asked if another person wanted to also be put on the application.

Now his visa has been granted we want him to come as soon as possible but because of work and money it would be much better if he could come over as an unaccompanied child. British airways would do this no problem and he would be looked after very well and we would meet him at Heathrow. The crux of the matter is does his passport have anything on it saying one of us must travel with him?

I know it would be easy if I could see his passport but trying to have his aunt tell us what the visa says is almost impossible, we get crossed lines, as her English is nil.

Thanks for any help anyone could give

As his mother is already living in the UK, the visa endorsement should be "SETTLEMENT TO JOIN PARENT(S)."

Which means he wont have any problems entering the UK on his own.

I wouldn't have thought so.

You say that you'll be arranging with the airline to have someone look after him and his visa makes it clear why he is travelling, so Thai passport control shouldn't have a problem.

If you want a belt and braces approach, then your wife could write an explanatory letter in Thai for him to show to the Thai authorities if needed.
