No you dont. Just put the console in your suitcase and that's it. But just for your information, if your PS2 cant play backups (iso) (copy game) it is almost useless here cause in Thailand you can buy only Copy Games.

I never saw Originals here. But besides that, your PS2 is PAL or NTSC-US and here you got NTSC-JAP consoles only. So as i say it needs to be moddet. Oherwise your Nephew will not have a lot of fun with it for a long time.

Totally agree with the above post. Many years ago I gave my Nintendo game cube to a nephew. every time I have to pop back to the U.K I buy three or four games from ebay for £3-5.

I'd put it in your hand-luggage, just as you would a notebook/laptop computer. Less chance of impact damage.

Also, you might want to make sure that it's the right voltage. I had to buy a voltage converter so my PS3 (US version) works here.

That sounds odd. PS2 and PS3 use a PSU like a notebook PC (it inside the PS3) and they run on all power from 120 (US/Japan) to 220 (UK/Thailand). It may say on the PS3 case that it can only be used on 120V but thats just Sony trying to protect regional sales.

Yeah it says 120V only... I'm not sure I want to plug it in to try it out. I killed a Bluray player form the states that way :)

Id say sell it and buy a second hand one here fo 4000 baht with two controllers.. it'll play everything and work well and save you the weight in the suitcase too.

Unless you really like the nephew

You can find em on the flea markets - one good place is fridays sundays and tuesdays in the number one talad nat fleamarket near Ramkamhaeng 2 university - best night market in bangkok and my favourite of all Thailand for cheap clothes, food hawkers and electronics and games
