A friend of mine is looking for a 30 day extension to his 3month nonB and we were wondering if this is ok?

On single entry Non-B visa the most he could get would be 7 day extension from immigration with sight of ticket out of the country within that timescale.

He needs to plan on obtaining a another visa, or some other type of entry.

Indeed. Suspect it unlikely that his employer would support application for extension of stay based on employment, even if meets the requirements, given only needed for 30 days. New Non-B visa from consulate abroad with company paperwork is likely way forward. Assuming he is working.

Cheers for the advice, he hasnt got a employer anymore so it was more to see if he can just get a 30 day tourist visa or something..

Tourist visa from consulate abroad is his way forward. They are currently free.
