pitbull
Ibis Hotel Nana Soi 4. Book at least 3 days in advance online to get the best price per night. www.ibishotel.com
Buang
If you want cheap and reasonable try the Honey Hotel on Soi 19. Last time I was there it was 900 to 1200 Baht per night including breakfast and yes it has carparking and a pool.

PattayaParent
Thanks guys, I know all those places but it's a weekend in Bangkok with the wife and kid so want somewhere less 'in your face' with the bar scene. Honey and Federal were places I used to stay in my single days and Ibis means negotiating past NEP to get in and out. I was hoping some Bangkok resident might know some 'off the beaten soi places' close to their place.
thaihome
The All Seasons on Sathorn, almost next door to the Australian Embassy is less the 1,500 and has a small carpark. TH Edited January 14, 2010 by thaihome
craigt3365
I have stayed at Pathumwan House for many years. It is near MBK, and thus Paragon, Central World, Siam Center/Square, etc. Short walk to the skytrain. About 1000B per night. Clean, small kitchen included. Nice staff. It is where I stay when I don't want to be in the thick of things on Suk.

craigt3365
oops...forgot about this one also. It is an older hotel, but has a pool, decent breakfast included, and good parking. It is on the same soi as Pathumwan house. Avoid the rooms in the front as they are fairly loud. I have stayed here many times and it is OK. Not sure about wifi, but Pathumwan has it and it was fairly decent last time I was there. http://www.renohotel.co.th/data/overall.html
