Hi IT folks,

My True internet ADSL modem Billion Bipac 7000 is dying on me, therefore need to replace it with All-In-One ADSL+Wifi router that is easy to install and reliable.

For an IT illiterate person like me, your kind advice or recommendation on the brand and model is very much appreciated.

Best regards,

Cant really recommend one for True but i can tell you one to Avoid, its a TP-Link TD-W8901G wifi router/modem.

It will not connect to my true service, I gave up, been bouncing emails back and forth with true trying to get it working seems imposible, even had a True technician come out, he had no luck either.

Thanks Spoonman, I will keep in mind and avoid TP-Link as mentioned above.

Looking forward to more advice.

I have the same question about what is best if, or I should say when, my Billion BIPAC 5102G which was supplied by TRUE some years ago quits.

My thought was that the best would be to go to TRUE and purchase a new one from them because it would be pre-loaded with all the settings required for TRUE ADSL.

Would this be a good option?

Getting from True is not a bad idea, but if there is a choice I would like try and seek out the best option.

Thanks & regards,

Getting one from True is a bad idea, it will be a True branded Zyxel thing running True's own firmware, True's firmware likes to do its highly annoying redirects sporadically to the True life home page.

We change our modem/router about every 2 months to test our different models, and so far the one I've liked the most is the Buffalo Wireless-N NFINITI router (model no: WHR-G300N-AP) it's small, no antennas but still good reach, and it's not as expensive as most other N-technology all-in-ones

Dear Folks,

Whatever brands or model is it, all I need is a reliable All-In-One Adsl modem+wireless router that is user friendly without much installation problems. If there is any forum members that has replaced True supplied modem without much hiccup I will be happy to try out one.

Linksys WAG200G. The shop can help you set it up. So simple. They'll show you how to block unauthorized users from your wireless network.
