HI all,

We are now getting to the point where my missus will be applying for FLR(M) visa having entered on a fiance visa last September.

I noticed on the form that she is supposed to include her partner's passport (i.e. mine!) in the application. It would appear they want the original document; does this mean I will be without my passport for the next three to four months???

I also noticed that they only seem to ask for letters addressed to the applicant if you're applying for FLR after already having a two year visa. Does that mean we don't have to provide any?

Cheers.

My wife received her FLR spouse visa 2 months ago .They require original passport document from yourself.

UKBA will confirm receipt of application and advise if you urgently require any documents to contact them.

You are correct they request no letters or documents from applicant on first application for FLR(M).My wifes application took 14 weeks . After 12 weeks spouse passport was returned and a request to forward letters/documents addressed to applicant preferably in joint names or solely . A guidance form of acceptable documents was identical to that pertaining to application for those already having been in UK 2 years .

In our case we enclosed medical card and explanation letter stating wife only in UK 6 months and on fiance visa with no rights of settlement therefore have no further documents/letters

Frustrating as these are clearly not requested on first application for FLR . Also required were letter from landlord advising who was living at premises and rental agreement . So you may wish to include additional documents to negate possible further requests for information.

Good Luck,
