January 18, 201016 yr I am thinking to remove one or two leafs per side from the rear leafsprings. Tried this anybody from you, before? I know, i will loose some load capacity, but this shouldnt be the problem. Because 95% we drive only with two persons and no load. ( Only some packs of Singha beer ) So, does it make sense?
January 18, 201016 yr Why?. Surely, the least that will do is bugger up the ride and at worst, kill you and anyone else in the vehicle, as you arrive at the scene of the accident.
January 18, 201016 yr Friend once bolted a piece of 1 inch steel plate of necessary size to give a few hundred pounds in the bed (bolted near tail gate). Worked great for him.
January 18, 201016 yr are u finding the back end skips around abit and the ride is a bit unwieldy? before you do anything drastic, please check the tyre pressures guessing they should be under 30psi alround but, if not checked, could well be over 40! sorry if you've already checked this.

Yeah, make sure of this. I pushed my pressure down to 29/30 and the D-Max was hugging the road and wasn't bouncing. I would also get the tracking checked as well and if they are a good place, they will test the actual wheels as well.
January 18, 201016 yr Actually it is quite common for Thai drivers to remove a leaf or two from the rear spring pack. It is not just as simple as that because they also normally change shocks to a monotube type as is done at a suspension shop like Hot Bits. Sure makes a big difference! BB
January 19, 201016 yr Actually it is quite common for Thai drivers to remove a leaf or two from the rear spring pack. Now, I'm really worried. That sentence gives me no reassurance about safety or common sense.
January 19, 201016 yr Author ok, I will check the tyre pressure and try it then. BTW what are "monotube" shocks? EDIT: ok, googled it already Monotube vs. Twintube
January 21, 201016 yr ok, I will check the tyre pressure and try it then.BTW what are "monotube" shocks? EDIT: ok, googled it already Monotube vs. Twintube I run exactly 29 PSI in D Max as stated on the inside of the drivers door and recommended by Isuzu and the tyre manufactured, it rides beautifully.
