Does Taksin Have A Political Message?

Other than the usual empty promises politicians make, does Taksin claim to have anything to bring the Thai people (other than himself)? Does he even try?

I don't follow the banter that closely, but from what I do take in the only issue at stake here is 'who belongs where.'

I'm not looking to start yet another thread on how democracy is being served, point of law regarding the most recent election, etc, but what it is that Thai people think they will gain (or lose) if he comes back. From what I can gather he feels he should be back in power because it is his destiny to do so, as well as serve his ego and, of course, his net worth.

I'm drawing a parallel with the last US election. The Republican candidate had nothing to offer, just the usual glad-handing and baby-kissing, and didn't even try. The only discernible messages were 'vote for me' and 'the other guy sucks.' Same with Taksin, I'm not hearing a message.

I'm also wondering if his alliance with Cambodia has damaged his image with the part of the Thai citizenry that had been supporting him.
