brian ,, i think i will take your advise, cheers :)

I gave you that advice in the second post on the thread :D

By the way, do you know just how she lost the big money, was it one lucky punter? or a few. The lottery sounded so disorganised you may want to check that she was just not playing the lottery with big money. Easy done when you bet 1000B per number (if it comes up you win 600 000 :D but the odds are so stacked against you.

this is not a pyramid scheme !!! i am not or was not involved, i gave my wife the money , she wants to have another dig at it when we go back to los but ive told her i wont put any money up for her. if i knew the whole ins and outs of this lotto then i would maybe give it another go as her friends seem to win regularly. my wife has said whenever too many tickets are sold then if she doesnt want them she has a friend in bangkok ( big money friend ) who will take the tickets via fax therefore the wife wouldnt take a big loss again. i dont want to take that risk, if the local cops are talking a backhander then how could it be illegal ? so begs the question if my wife has a big win the local cops can come take everything and there is <deleted> all i can do about it ? and surely i cannot be blackballed from thailand for nothing i only give the wife the money to operate it so how can the government hold hubby responsible ?

All forms of gambling in Thailand is illegal, except the National Lottery. Simpel as that. And if you finance her criminal activity, you are just as guilty as her.

not all forms of are illegal in thailand! horse racing is permitted in bangkok every sunday between two venues alternately, at henri dunant and nang lern. unless a particular sunday falls on a religious day, voting day and i think some royal birthdays

Are 100% sure it is legalized betting on the ponies at Henri Dunant?

bulls**t, this means i lend my wife ,money which is jointly ours anyway then the cops can take me in for running an illegal lotto ? so why did the cops come twice and get 4 grand off her ?

See it as your "stay out of jail this time" card.

dmax, you recently entertained us all while building your house, very factual and very funny in some parts. Was this the same wife who didn't want to get involved in your arguments with the builders? Who you quoted as eating som tum and if you wanted to fire the builder, do it yourself?

2 points spring to mind.

While you were running all over Isaan getting bargains, she was sitting on her arse dreaming up ways to lose your hard earned cash.

What was the point of you scrimping around when she already had started burning your money?

She is a definite keeper

Just one more serious note. Are you definitely sure she is not already in debt over this?

She probably is since she started with 100.000 Baht and lost 133.000 over 2 occasions. In my eyes she is missing 33000 baht somewhere.

Might I remind members of the numerous threads here on TV over the years ,regarding the untimely demise of ex-pats in T,land caused directly and indirectly by Thai wives gambling debts.

You are not talking "penny poker"here, when big money is involved ,very dangerous people circle like feeding sharks.
