My wife... ( Thai national ) has a passport that is expiring next month... however the tourist visa to the United States doesn't expire for about eight more years. How do we go about transferring the visa from the old passport to the new passport?

Thanks for any ideas.

You don't transfer the visa to her new passport, the U.S. Embassy won't do this.

What she needs to do is to carry BOTH passports with her for travel to the U.S.

NOT a problem, my Thai wife was in this situation several years ago, never a problem for U.S. entry, just show both passports.

She's in this situation again now, with her U.S. 10-year visa in her canceled passport, still NOT a problem for U.S. entry.

I concur. My wife was just approved for a 10 year visa, but her passport will expire in 5 years. Contacted the embassy to confirm this, and they stated the same. Carry BOTH passports and do not deface the visa in anyway.
