Bangkok To Loas

Featured Replies

I need some help....

I need to leave Thailand on the 21st of this month and have looked at flying to Laos for a few days but the flights are expensive and don't accommodate my date.

Can anyone please suggest or recommend the cheapest mode of transport, apart from flying to get to Laos from Bangkok or any other destination close to Thailand.

My fiancee’s family live in Korat, so we plan to spend a few days there as well.

I have tried looking for bus and train schedules but would welcome any help from members who have travelled this way before.

Cheapest would be 3rd class overnight train Hualampong station to Nong Khai, around 300 baht, with a connecting 20 baht train into Tha Na Laeng, Laos.

If you want to splurge, buy a place in a sleeper carriage though, 400 up to 1200 or so (second class fan upper berth, lower, air upper, lower, first class air from low to high)

Schedule here: http://www.traveller2000.com/train/TimeTab...ortheastern.htm
