Understanding Tourist Visa

Recommended Posts

Hi all, Thanks for all the contributions so far but I'm just having a little bit of trouble fully understanding the visas.

So, I can obtain a multiple entry visa from Perth Australia

and that's 2 x 60 days stay in thailand

Then, each 60 day can be extended in thailand for 1,900baht yes

so equaling a total of 180days

what happens after that, I go over to viantine and obtain another multiple entry tourist visa and do the same?

and then you just continue like that?

Thanks

Actually you can apply for a multiple entry non-Immigrant O visa in Perth.

Purpose "visiting friends", you will need a signed photocopy of a Thai national.

This will give unlimited entries for 12 months, every time you will get 90 days on entry.

If you enter the day before the visa expires it will give you a bonus 90 days.

That will make it totally 15 months.

A tourist visa is issued with a specific number of entries. A double entry tourist visa would, with extensions and border run in the middle, give nearly 6 months stay. Vientiane currently issuing double entry tourist visas within the region, so expect you could renew.

As said, best option if possible would be to obtain multiple entry Non-O visa from Perth on basis of visting friends. But would need signed copy of ID card/passport of Thai friend.
