Help With Translation Please!

Hi all,

I'm looking for the right translation of "with an open heart". It yould be the spiritual meaning like... live your life with an open heart and soul...

I've asked around before. I found:

ด้วยจิตใจที่เปิด

and this:

เปิด หัวใจ

is this correct? what's the difference between them?

If there's a typical thai saying for that, please let me know as well.

เปิดหัวใจ means more like 'to reveal your true feelings; to open up (to someone)'

เปิดใจ can mean two things -- to open up and talk frankly about something, or to be open-minded

So to be more clear, I'd suggest เปิดใจกว้าง.

But note that เปิดใจกว้าง is the verb form (as in, "Please be open-minded"). For the noun form (as in, "Please have an open mind") you'd say ใจที่เปิดกว้าง.

This is what I learned for my life during my travel through thailand. e.g. I loved the way they cook, prepare fruits, etc. for ther friends, family and those they can not see. they never buy something just for themselves, they always give, give, give. And by that they get back even more.

ใจดี, is two words, ใจ, heart, ดี, good.

A good person would be, คน kon, person, ใจ, heart, ดี, good.

Or it Thai, คนใจดี, kon jai dee, a person with a good heart.

My suggestions weren't sentences, they were just phrases for "to be open hearted" (verb) and "open heart" (noun). I gave those examples in English of what kind of sentences the verb and noun versions of the phrase would appear in to demonstrate their difference.

Someone will still have to translate your whole phrase for you.

What you have put into a sentence ใจที่เปิดกว้าง is just ใจกว้าง All the ones you have been given amount the same thing depending on the listener's experience which will depend on the stories you relate.

Researching this I came across a saying which might be something worth taking away with you, especially if it all goes to 'worms' here.

คับที่อูย่ได้ คับใจอยู่ยาก 'you can live in a tight space, but you can't live with a tight heart'. I think that it explains what you found.

Leni, no I'm not Thai, just an eager student of Thai. I have a simple saying that seems to me to cover much of what you mentioned:

ผู้ให้ย่อมเป็นสุข
