JetsetBkk
Before leaving: Put it up on bricks and take the wheels off. Disconnect battery. Pull wipers off the windscreen. After returning: Put wipers on the windscreen. Reconnect battery. Put the wheels back on. Start it and let it tick over slowly to get the oil around the engine. I have had several cars in Thailand and been in and out of the country more than a hundred times for spells as long as three and a half to four months. I have never done anything other than disconnect the battery and possibly throw a cover over the car if going to be away for more than a few weeks. Never had a problem upon returning. Have you ever owned a car ??
Loz
John Be good is on the money here. depends on the age of the car and the battery. Assuming both are relatively new, I'd just pull the positive lead off the battery if I was going to be away more than 2 months. 40 days. Your battery should be fine. I carry jump cables always because I am a good samaritain. Might be an idea for you too. Are you leaving it at the air port? alarms are very low drain these days. you should be fine. oh, turn the lights off.

Don't worry about getting to the airport and finding your battery is flat because the alarm system has drained your battery. It's really good fun trying to push-start or jump-start a diesel pick-up. Don't worry about your tyres being cracked because they've slowly lost air until they're resting on the rim and have then been cooked in the sun. You want to take no risks? Do what I said. You want to take a chance? Do what these clowns say. Good luck.
gorber
Don't worry about it. I left my car and my motorbike in the UK for 6 weeks, both with alarms, in November, whilst I came to Thailand, without any problems. If you cannot start your car after 4 weeks in Thailand then buy a new battery because it must be fcuked.
