I will be going back to Thailand for 2 weeks in March, and I had some questions about the entry stamp.

I'll be flying in from Cairo, and the embassy here told me not to bother with getting a visa since I'm only going for 2 weeks... how does the entry stamp on arrival for US citizens work? I've only ever entered with tourist visas. My main concern is that I booked my flight to BKK, and will be checking in to an Air Asia flight to Chiang Mai, which leaves about 2 and a half hours after I'm scheduled to arrive from Cairo. I dont want to miss my flight to CM because I was stuck filling out paperwork or waiting in line while I had to deal with some kind of bureaucratic BS.

At suvarnabpumi do I just go through the immigration like when I entered previously with a visa? Do they just give me a standard stamp there and let me through? Or will I have to go somewhere else first and fill out some other paperwork?

Also, I left Thailand in Jan, so 90 days won't have passed since I was last there on a double entry visa, is this going to be an issue? I still get the occasional "re-entry visa crackdown" email from Thaivisa...

Thanks,

E

Provided you have a return ticket within 30 days you will get a 30 day entry stamp.

Just pass through Immigration as normal to be stamped in for 30 days.

You will then have to get your baggage and check in with Air Asia.

Just hope that your flight from Cairo is not late.
