Trump tells Americans ‘it won’t be easy’
I learned that lesson before I even got out of high school as the Vietnam War was unfolding and all the lies were exposed. Learned the another crucial lesson from trial & error ... 'work hard for a company, put you 30-40 yrs in & retire'. Found out that was total BS after 3 airlines. Hence the self employment route, and never looked back. Don't depend on anything, you don't have total control over. -

Trump tells Americans ‘it won’t be easy’
What do over here is just a whole lot of hot air but no explanations of what you understand it to me. What I understand it to mean is that the Fed is getting concerned about the economy going into a recession. It's an especially striking move given that they still aren't satisfied with the inflation rate. What it isn't is positive news about the state of the economy unlike what you apparently believe. You offered the possible t-build declines as a contradiction to what the markets are saying. Quite the contrary, actually. -

Trump tells Americans ‘it won’t be easy’
Of course it did. You were lucky that you didn't get some disease that crippled you, didn't have an accident that crippled you etc. You think you can control a situation where a friend sticks a pencil in your eye by accident, or stop a drunk moron driving into you? I've seen things as a nurse that you have no concept of. Life is precarious. -

Thai Authorities Order Closure of 55 Buildings Post-Quake
Even without the quake, if there was some genuine and serious assessment to be done on private villas or condos in Thailand, most would plainly not be fit as safe. Should it be faulty construction, cheap materials used, non respect of curing protocols for the cement, suicidal electric wiring, sloppy plumbing..name it and you'll have it. Be it a house in village in Isaan or a post pool villa in a swanky developpment in Hin Lek Fai. Most of these properties have been badly built or have sloppy fittings done by crooks (thai and falang) who know perfectly well that they can get away with their crooked habbits. But we all knew that before...but just did not want to admit it. Of course, no generalization here as surely there are still some decent house contractors still left ? -

Thailand to Boost US Imports Amid Tariff Turmoil
It's not just tariffs. It's also IP protection. Imagine Thailand having to actually pay Adidas, Nike, Apple, etc. even a tiny royalty each time someone buys a (usually fake) branded product. That would result in $billions remitted to US companies. Which would go a long way to balancing the trade numbers. Thai companies can protect their trademarks through the courts in the USA. US companies can't in Thailand.
