Time for me to spout off.

post-7384-1268981774_thumb.jpg post-7384-1268982239_thumb.jpg

This was off the coast of Byblos, Lebanon, yesterday lunch time.

I first noticed the tail dropping from the thunderclouds at 1:27pm.

Then the waterspout formed and became a complete Tornado, finally

collapsing at 1:33. I took 9 shots during that period, these are the first and last

The longest lens I had to hand was my 17-85mm on the Canon 40D, so equivalent to a 135mm.

I have been wondering for quite some time whether the coconut tree in my garden will one of these days fall on the house or not.

And I took a picture of the base of the tree today in order to show you why.

WOW! Is that normal there!!!!?

Not as far as I know..........

We have been having unseasonably hot weather, and yesterday it cooled.

Perhaps that had something to do with it.

The clesest I have been to a Tornado, before, was at an airport in the Mid West of the USA

when we were all told to shelter under the stairs as there was a Warning...........

Rain is coming in northern Thailand!

A couple of hours ago. Hard wind but not much rain in the end.

This is the view from the house.

Was in Singapore recently and took quite a lot of pictures. I could probably post one every day for the next 365 days...

Not the purpose of this thread actually but well, in order to keep it alive, I need to break the 24 hours "rule".

So another one taken there 24+ hours ago, the well-known Singapore Merlion in Fullerton park.

Singapore tries to soften its hardcore money making focus.

By adding some art here and there.

Was surprised to see that on the east coast beach.

But well, they're still very hardcore... :)

Just came back from Koh Samet and noticed that lot of people use a DSLR camera these days.

A girl trying to get a macro photo of the small crabs that hide in the sand.

Not too sure she got it but she sure tried.

And well, not everybody is using a DSLR camera, these 2 girls spent 2 days taking photos of each others with a compact camera.

And they seemed to love it.

We did not complain... :)

I went to Safari World in Bangkok yesterday and took quite a few pictures in the many shows they have there.

But I have to say dolphins are the most impressive, this guy was so straight at the top of its jump, it looks like it is flying

Here a photo I really like not for its quality or its composition but for the irony.

The whole nation is looking for the "Red Assassins" or "Red Snipers".

I just saw this little boy and thought: Yes, that's my "Red Sniper". After all it's Songkran and we are supposed to be happy.

Taken with a Nikon D300, Nikon 17-55 2.8; shot at 45mm, f/2.8, 1/200 with balanced fill flash

Big commotion in the kitchen this morning.

Everybody running out of the house.

Why? A gecko was in the kitchen.

Well, a big gecko.

4525089402_649e671e32.jpg

Not too sure of the reason why they were afraid but the gecko was sure afraid and hissing at me.

First time I hear that actually.

Put it in the bucket I was given, a pink one, why does Thailand have only pink buckets? :)

Anyway, I released it after taking a few pictures of it in the bucket.

Isn't it supposed to be auspicious to have Tokkay in the house!?

Lucky you you got such a close look. I never thought they look so charming. :D

I don't suppose you shot this in Bangkok? I could hear them in Bangkok when I was a kid. That's no more.

Happy Songkran!

I love the natural smile and happiness of father and son on this photo.

Taken with Nikon D300, Nikkor 17-55 2.8 at 31mm, 1/1'000 f/2.8

Great shot ! Really sharp and very good colors! Both guys look so very happy!

I do not think that the ones of the tokkay was the best but you have had some very good shots here. Especially of the dolphine and some of beautiful girls on the road home! Keep on shooting, we like it!

Be careful they can give you a nasty bite.

I am told they are also very tasty to eat...........:)

We are lucky to have two of these Tokays in our house. I don´t see them often, maybe once a month but I hear them many times a day. They are keeping the number of geckos down.

I think every house up here in the north has a Tockay.

I have not seen any one eating them. They are not dangerous if you just let them do their business.
