Hi all,

I had planned to get my visa for Vietnam this week as I fly on Feb 20th, but went into the embassy friday only to find embassy will be shut all next week.

What I should have done is just applied for it online for $20 and picked it up upon arrival.

Anyway, the online service won't be back in action also till the 22nd, so it seems there's no way for me get a visa prior to the 20th.

Really not sure what to do. Is there any way they can issue a visa on arrival?

I've heard about emergency 15 day visa's - are these available?

Any info would be great as if I cancel saturdays flight I'll have to go with another airline as Airasia are all booked up +additional costs etc.

Thanks if you can help!

Only solution in your case is to contact a travel agency in Vietnam and get them to get approved a Visa on arrival authorization, which you will have to show upon arrival at airport.

Then, you will have to pay for the visa in Cash, have a couple of pix ready and fill the form.

You better get the travel agency to book the hotel for you so at least they will have a reason to provide such service.

Have fun

Sorry, but I don't think the travel agent route will work. The whole of Vietnam is basically closed for the Tet holiday. (Their version of New Year.) The "visa on arrival" requires a letter from Vietnam Immigration Department - and they're going to be closed.

Unfortunately, I think you're stuffed.
