I'm 51 years old and planning to move to Thailand by summer 2010. After reviewing the list of requirements on the web page for a retirement visa, a few questions came to mind that I hope someone may have the answer to.

1. Would a DWI on a police report that occurred more than 25 yeras ago be sufficient reason to deny this visa request? It resulted in no injury, no imprisonment and no property damage.

2. In meeting the requirement of 65,000 bath per month from pension or investments, what documentation would be needed? Could it be the written authorization to transfer the 65,000 bath from a bank or brokerage into a Thai bank account?

Thanks in advance

1. Not likely to be a problem and only the OA visa requires a police check.

2. Will be up to the Consulate. Most people would use the 800k in account(s) for OA visa issue in the US. For use in Thailand income always requires letter from Embassy that you provide income under oath. Paperwork to support might be asked by Immigration but it has no set rule.
