I was coming off the expressway this morning onto Silom and a police bike (on an escort) sudddenly appeared to my right, I looked to see if I need to stop and where he was going, in the meantime the car in front of my stopped (black toyota, newish looking car) and I ran into the back of him, at a slight angle, I saw as he moved forward his rear bumper was damaged, dented in quite a bit. he signalled as if to pull over then decided he wouldn't stop, he just carried on down Silom. I flashed him to stop, we were stopped in traffic so I even pointed for him to stop (I was behind him). I ended up one car behind and a motorbike taxi guy that saw the accident stopped in the traffic and spoke to him, then laughed and rode off.

Anyway he chose to not stop, when I managed to pull over later and check my car I have broken my indicator and a scratch on the front (no dents though, it pays to drive a volvo haha). I will get the insurance on it but I am totally puzzled why he would not stop, maybe no licence or insurance, or maybe loud music and didn't feel the bump (although judging by the damage he must have felt it).but It was clearly my fault. Weird

A year ago I came back from a run up the beach, a bird (a tweety one) had crapped on my head, and my wife immediately went out and bought a lottery ticket using my birth date, much to my amusement.

Mind you, she had the last laugh - by winning 2,000 Baht!

Oh I get you but when have Thais ever bothered about being late? I would have thought he would be more interested in seeing if there was any damage and getting it paid for, maybe he just thought it was not hard enough to cause damage.

Only thing I can think is the Thai driver already had a smashed in bumper from a previous accident (that was or was not going to be fixed soon) and didnt see the point in stopping. Only thing I can think that would make the motorcycle driver laugh.

This is possible as I had not seen the bumper before I hit it obviously, but if it was already damaged it was a good shot by me as I got him right in the dent
