I am preparing to apply for a visa for my Thai wife to visit the UK for 2 weeks

She has had 2 settlement visas already but we now live in Thailand

Should I apply for just a normal Tourist visa or a visa for a spouse to visit the UK

Also is it better to apply online or hand in all the paperwork together

I assume that the main purpose of your visit is to see you family, so she applies for a family visit visa using form VAF1B.

As you are both resident in Thailand, the amount of supporting evidence required is minimal; see Spouse/Partner of British Citizen (Based in Thailand) going to the UK for a visit (family visit) – Check List.

Applying on line means that you can make an appointment to hand in the paperwork and have her biometrics taken. Applying with a paper form means you have to turn up at the VAC and wait your turn. Your choice.

For more, see Official UK visa application website in Thailand.
