Changing Yen To Baht

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am currently in Japan and will be making a two week trip in Thailand soon. Should I Exchange my yen to Baht now, or wait until after I'm in Thailand. I'm thinking the latter, and, if so, where?

Thanks

The spread between currency buying and selling rates in Thailand is roughly 4%. In Europe & Hongkong it is about 10%. I don't know but I'll guess it's also 10% or so in Japan. If so wait till you get here.

Wait until you arrive in Thailand.

"where?"

A currency exchange.

never ever change money in your own country , never change it at the banks in airport, wait untill you reach thailand , go to your nearest bank and change it there you will allways get a far better rate.

also google in ( siam commercial bank exchange rates) gives you all up to date rates .

"where?"

A currency exchange.

Super Rich, if you stay in Bangkok. Just Google it.

Thanks for the info. I will have to exchange a little at the airport though so that I can have baht for the taxi or public bus.
