Price Of Flights To/from The Uk

Our local Khon Kaen travel agent has always found us some reasonable travel deals for flights to the UK and back but this time round, the best she could do worked out at about £740 per person. This is over £100 up on last November for the same flight.

What prices are members currently paying for flights either from Bangkok to Manchester/London or going the other way?

Finnair have some good prices out of the UK at the moment - around £530. More expensive out of Thailand though, as they all seem to be.

Airlines have cut seats this year therefore prices have risen.

i saw a very good deal with www.cheaptickets.co.uk , they had china airways, 295 pound return !, thai airways seems to be a set price of 500 return direct

I think its time you changed travel agents? Even last year you where paying over the odds,have you looked at air asia or oman air.jet airways also via mumbai...you are better booking yourself on the net to cut out the agents fees,also rememeber the long haul flight tax has just gone up a hel_l of a lot in the uk,the last flight i got was with oman air 435 pound! and a good service,a mate has just got a flight with etihad from mcr to bkk 530! admittedly the other way can be a bit more,but not that much.

Last minute have sri lankan now for around 516 pounds 24th march return 24th april

And expedia do also.

I booked a early flight last month. London Heathrow - Bangkok direct with EVA air - £500 inc taxes. I'm flying next week.

I was going to fly over last week but for some reason the flight worked out at £640 so i waited a week and made the saving.

Similarly just booked one Qatar Airways flight for May BKK-LGW-BKK at 28,000 Baht, although Etihad & Emirates both seemed more-expensive than previously, and Jet had 25-hour end-to-end travel-times, which seemed excessive ?

Don't forget that there has been a UK departure-tax increase, since last year, also the weak pound may be a factor ?

Lastly the OP may also be including the cost of a connection to/from BKK, my own on TG from CNX-BKK-CNX usually adds at least 4,000 Baht to the cost, something which anyone living in Bangkok or Pattaya area avoids.

Not much point in talking Europe to Thailand airline prices without specifying dates. Now until late June is cheap (except around Songkran) and July to mid September is £100 to £200 more. £740 could well be a competitive price if it is from BKK return in late July coming back in August. £740 would be extortionate if you were flying ex London next week returning in early May.

Use a comparator website like Opodo.com - you will just get misleading snapshot anecdotal experience on threads introiduced like this, and end up worrying that you still have not got a good deal. Any of the comparator sites will give you a good deal - and a great deal if you do enough reserach on alternative dates and can be flexible. [OK so someone may strike lucky and get a seat £20 cheaper than you].

I have flown Lon to BKK at least every 2 months for the last 4 years or more.

bloody ridiculous the prices now!! why dont you try pay by credit card and get a uk agent, try thriftway travel belfast , they have some great deals with etihad and i fly regularly from belfast for around 600 mark
