Sawasdee Khrup,

Attention : moderators : with respect : there are many expats in Chiang Mai who have double-entry visas, and who go to Mae Sai to renew : what happened to us could happen to them : please leave this thread up here. Why was the first post on this deleted ?

Geezzzee You think that with the double brain power that you two have one of you could have figured it out.

The "must enter before Feb 11" statement should be like a expiration date for the visa..... like a use by date..... after that date the visa is no longer valid..... Would one of you assume that a double entry visa "Use by date, would be used for the first entry and the second entry would go on for ever?

Then there is another possibliity and most probable..... They knew you guys.

one entity , single entry visa ='s one entity enters once

you had a double entry and both of you used it up at the same time... 2 entities entered

Just be thankful you didn't have a triple entry...... one of you would have been left behind.

And so how did you and your less-furry human vessel solve the situation ? A simple 2 week stamp now ? Gonna be heading back Lao-ways soon ? Do Orangs get uncomfortable on 15 hr bus rides ?

And, as I didn't see the original Orang thread, I am unclear whether it was human vessel error, or Mae Sai Immigration in a bad mood ? What is the verdict ?

I think the thread was discontinued because you implied that it was immigration at Mae Sai that quote 'screwed up' whereas it seems it was in fact your msiunderstanding of the rules and in particular your doulbe overstay that caused the problem. Mae Sai immigration have the stamp if your entitled to it. you weren't QED.
