Court unlocks 9 more Map Ta Phut projects

BANGKOK: -- The Central Administrative Court on Wednesday unlocks 9 more Map Ta Phut industrial projects, allowing them to proceed with the construction works and machinery test runs.

The suspension order was lifted after a team of court judges visited Map Ta Phut for inspection.

From 76 projects, a total of 21 have won the court's consent for proceeding.

They use English for the titles of the project, though they are written in Thai for the Thai newspapers.

Other reports say that 7 have been released from the injunction.

These include PTT’s 130 million Bisphenol-A project, as well as 6 from SCG that include projects run by subsidiaries Map Tha Phut Tank Terminal and Thai Polyethylene; Siam Polyethylene and Siam Synthetic Latex, two joint ventures between SCG and Dow Chemicals; and a project run by Thai MMA, a 50/50 venture between SCG and Mitsui Chemicals.

2. Gas recycling enhancement/HMC Polymers

3. Clean energy, oil vapour controlling unit installation/Star Petroleum Refining

4. Oil vapour controlling unit installation/PTT Aromatics and Refining

5. Air pollution improvement/Indorama Petroleum

6. Wastewater treatment improvement/PTT

7. Chlorine vaporiser and wet scrubber installation/Aditya Berla Chemicals (Thailand)

8. Tank relocation/Map t Tank Terminal

9. LPG/Brutene Depot-Wharf/PTT Chemical

10. Loading Arm Installation/Star Petroleum Refining

11. Petrochemical Depot-Wharf/Map Ta Phut Tank Terminal
