Dutch Man Accused Of Sexual Assault On Beach Rd

Featured Replies

Dutch man accused of sexual assault on Pattaya Beach.

The daily logs clerk at Pattaya Police Station received an interesting case of alleged sexual assault on Wednesday night. The victim was Khun Sawalat aged 43 and the alleged attacker was Mr. Remt Jan Hoekstra aged 61 from Holland. Khun Sawalat told Police that she was sitting on the beach with a group of friends in front of the Central Pattaya junction when Mr. Hoekstra approached her and using some rather obscene language made it clear that he wanted to engage in sexual activities with her. She refused which apparently led to the Dutch man lunging towards her and grabbing her breasts. At the Police station Mr. Hoekstra, who was extremely intoxicated, could not communicate with the officer to give his side of the story. They decided to incarcerate him for a time to give him a chance to sober-up and later decided to fine him 500 Baht before sending him on his way with a warning not to touch anyone else without permission in the future.

I'm always amazed that drunken tourists always consider every woman they see as being in the game. I really think that the Thai police are entirely too easy on those drunken scum bags. Would they do that in their own country? NOT likely is it?

Are you ? Why?

The western media hammers home time-after-time that -

Thailand=naughty ladies.

We know that this is untrue, but why should 'drunken tourists' make the effort to see it with a more nuanced perspective?

The Thai Government makes no substantive attempt to reverse foreign perceptions of Pattaya as a sex tourist destination, full of available crumpet.

How can we assume he was a tourist? I didn't read that in the post. Could it be possible he was a drunken expat. :o

I'm wondering if the 500 baht fine ended up in a policeman's pocket and then found it's way to a massage parlour.

I wonder what the normal punishment for this type of assualt would be back in his home country.

Another terrible example for the falang reputation Expat or Tourist.

500 Thb.

Then you have the case on the telly yesterday of another European involved in selling porno tapes in Jomtien.
