We are just about to start getting a visa for my wife who is Thai, I am English.

I am wondering if you can apply for a spouse visa within the UK while my wife was on a Tourist visa?

This would be far easier for us rather than applying from Thailand.

NO Chance.

Been there , done that.

She must apply from Thailand for settlement 2 yr visa.

Pain in the bum but hey that's life sometimes.

Prepare yourself for the expense and wait.

As said, no; visit visas cannot be converted to settlement in the UK.

If she wants to settle, why apply for a visit visa? Apply for the visa appropriate to her intentions.
