Cheers! :o

Hey, Chris... I was there not too long ago... get your transport to take you to Soi Tanawit off of Petch Kasem, and check into the EuroGuestHouse. Large, clean, fairly nice rooms with a big double bed, only 700B. No problems bringing my SO. Also on the same street with one of the few gay venues in Hua Hin, Doi Boi- a transvestite cabaret. Stopped in, not too busy now, but good for a late drink and you can watch them rehearsing for next season.

Hi -

I concur with Steve of of "I just want to teach" since I recommend this hotel a while back to him!! Still good value and you wake up starving because of the bakery they have on the ground floor! The cinnamon rolls are yummy! The transvestite show a bit "tired" but worth a visit as Steve says for a drink on the way back. The Sofitel if you are there on a Friday night has "French" night buffet which is quite good with great onion soup and great cheese selection. I think it was about 700baht but well worth it. Have fun!

Is that the place near the Train Station, where you have to walk through the bakery shop to get to the rooms...? If so I stayed there for 1 night, and it was nice... :o

That's the place!

Incidentally, I never did locate the "other" bar in the area, though I didn't try so hard. Although, if you go to the internet cafe across the street from the Euroguesthouse in the daytime there are plenty of flirty types hanging around. I walked by the "massage" place down the street from Sofitel mentioned in the other thread and didn't see many guys hanging around- the ones who were there didn't look too skilled in "massage" so I gave it a miss.

Random comments:

The Burger King in Hua Hin sucks...

Many nice and reasonably priced Italian restaurants! I recommend Caruso on the corner next to the street by the beach, for quality as well as location...

Happy Hour's 6-8 p.m. at the Hilton and Sofitel...

The Sofitel garden's really, really well-done! Maybe one of the better sculptured gardens I've seen in Thailand, with a developing topiary!
