Hi guys

I have a question, I guess it has been posted a lot of times :) anyway. I got an internship in thailand, but all the paper work will be done in thailand. I have read that you cannot enter thailand if you not also have booked a flight out of thailand. So can I just book a one way ticket into thailand, and book a cheap ticket e.g. to Malaysia, via Air-asia, it that possible?

Best regards

Mkstyle

Entering Thailand without a return or onward ticket is no problem. Getting a boarding pass for your flight at your airport of departure can be a problem if you do not have a visa and if your do not have a confirmed flight out of Thailand within 30 days from your arrival.

If your internship will be longer than 30 days you should get a visa from a Thai consulate.

Yes, it would.

The other problem with entering on an exempt stamp is that if the "paperwork" (I'm assuming that is for an RD visa) takes longer than 30 days, plus a 7 day extension, you have to leave the country and return with another stamp.

Why not get a tourist visa, they're free?

Agree, a tourist visa would be best. You meet the visa requirement and don't need to buy another ticket.

Tourist visas are not free at the present time.
